What is nanotechnology? Does it Set Our nano Greases Apart?
The term ‘nano’ is thrown around in many industries and is perhaps overused in consumer products. “Nano” means one-billionth or 10-9, respectively one nanometer is one-billionth of a metre. What does that mean for our line of nano greases?
Nano-sized super-strong particles of inorganic fullerene-like tungsten disulfide (IFWS2) are the basis for the proprietary nanotechnology used in KLONDIKE nano grease. The IFWS2 nano technology is specifically developed to enhance lubricant performance outside of what traditional additive technology can do. Traditional additive technology where inorganic particles are used can be measured in the micron scale, whereas IFWS2 tungsten disulfide is measured in the nanometric scale. The unique size and shape of the particles lends proprietary properties to the finished lubricant that aren’t replicated using traditional, legacy technologies.
IFWS2 particles, which are spherical in nature, act like ball bearings between metal surfaces. By laying down a protective micro-layer and bonding to the metal parts in the areas of most extreme pressure. IFWS2 prevents these surfaces from coming into contact, thus reducing friction and energy consumption, and lowering operating temperatures.

Calcium sulfonate greases show superior mechanical and shear stability compared to lithium complex greases, indicating less leakage, and run out during operation. Calcium sulfonate provides outstanding water resistance properties and does not break down in the presence of water. Lithium complex greases usually require tackifiers to improve their water resistance properties.
